Analysis of the Didactic Content of a Selected Biology Textbook for the 2nd Grade of Primary School

This paper presents a detailed analysis of the textbook for the second grade of primary education - Biology 9. Geology - Ecology (Faměra et al., 2017). The aim of the analysis was to evaluate both the didactic content of the textbook in general and the evaluation of the didactic content related to a specific topic - sustainability. In this paper, the specific criteria used in the analysis of the textbook will be presented, as well as the results of the analysis. The data obtained will then be used in further research aimed at comparing the content of this Czech textbook with the didactic content of selected textbooks from abroad (specifically from Denmark and Poland). According to the results so far, it can already be said that both the didactic content and the overall processing of Czech textbook is at a good level in terms of the defined characteristics.
