David C. Webb

Prof. David C. Webb, PhD, is Associate Professor of STEM Education and affiliate faculty in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Colorado Boulder. He teaches courses for preservice and inservice math and science teachers on assessment design and use, curriculum policy and design, and student-centered classroom practices. He serves on the Executive Board for the International Society for Design and Development of Education and is also the Executive Director of Freudenthal Institute US, an international research collaborative for mathematics education. Dr. Webb has been involved in several collaborative research projects involving the co-design of STEM education instructional resources that promote active learning, computational thinking and executive function in K-16 STEM education. He has also been a co-author of instructional resources such as Scalable Game Design, PhET STEM simulations, and SparkMath. Dr. Webb was a former middle and high school teacher in Southern California. He earned his B.S. in Applied Mathematics from UCLA, a Masters degree in Confluent Education from UC Santa Barbara, and a Ph.D in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin.
